Venezuela: School discriminates against 13 year old for lesbian kiss

Tamara Adrián said … that the Instituto Escuela School located in Prados del Este, Caracas, denied the re-enrolment of a teenager on allegations of “bad application and bad behaviour”, this after having kissed an older [female] classmate when they were in a school transport, according to the Efecto Cocuyo web portal.

The girl’s mother, Karina Barbosa, complained to the aforementioned media that her daughter has not been the only person harmed by these school decisions. La madre de la niña, Karina Barbosa denunció ante el medio antes mencionado que su pequeña no ha sido la única persona perjudicada por estas decisiones del colegio. En el caso de su hijo varón también le fue negado el proceso de reinscripción para el año escolar 2019 – 2020, así como a la otra compañera de transporte educativo y a una amiga de su hija.

Con esta medida tomada por el colegio Instituto Escuela, se están viendo afectados cuatro estudiantes los que no les permitieron el proceso de reinscripción.

Barbosa, también perteneció a ese colegio durante seis años donde trabajó como profesora de inglés y fue en el año 2017 cuando renunció. Luego de dos años de haberse retirado de la institución académica percibe la manera en como sus hijos son discriminados por el personal administrativo.

El hecho del beso sucedió el pasado 17 de mayo, por lo que fue el 20 de mayo cuando el plantel tomó la medida contra la niña a un punto que el personal de Instituto Escuela comenzó a vigilarla en cada cosa que hacía, esta situación se mantuvo hasta la finalización del año escolar 2018 – 2019. “Debía ser acompañada al baño, a la enfermería, incluso le decían dónde podía sentarse en el transporte”, manifestó Karina Barbosa.

A father is being prosecuted for repeated death threats because of sexual orientation.
This father does not approve of his daughter, a young adult, being homosexual. On the 14th of last July, this forty-year-old man, furious and armed with knives, went in search of his daughter in Uzès. The girl is the victim of his threats since October 2018.

The first complaint of corrective rape against a woman in El Maule was filed this Monday at the Guarantee Court of Talca.

Chile: Lesbian conversion therapy as a child

In spite of the historical advances that the movement for the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community has achieved, conversion therapies are still practiced behind the walls of numerous psychological providers in Chile.
A pseudoscientific method that seeks to “cure homosexuality” psychologically, limiting and repressing any type of sexual orientation that does not conform to heterosexuality.
However, it is proven that there is nothing good in these treatments. According to the World Psychiatric Association, those who attend these therapies often “develop addictions, suicidal tendencies, sexual disorders and depression.”
In Chile in the 2000s, Carmina Vásquez, an accomplished lawyer from the University of Chile and a member of the Lesbofeminist Network in support of the LGBTIQ + community, attended conversion therapy for the first time when she was only 14 years old.

A pesar de los históricos avances que ha logrado el movimiento por los derechos de la comunidad LGBTIQ+, detrás de las paredes de numerosas consultas psicológicas de Chile todavía se practican las terapias de reconversión sexual.
Un método pseudocientífico que desde la psicología busca “curar la homosexualidad”, limitando y reprimiendo cualquier tipo de orientación sexual que no se ajuste a la heteronorma.
Sin embargo, está demostrado que no hay nada de bueno en estos tratamientos. Según la Asociación Mundial de Psiquiatría, quienes asisten a estas terapias suelen “generar adicciones, tendencias suicidas, trastornos sexuales y depresión”.
En un Chile de los 2000, Carmina Vásquez, una realizada abogada de la Universidad de Chile e integrante de la Red Lesbofeminista en apoyo a la comunidad LGBTIQ+, asistió por primera vez a una terapia de reconversión sexual cuando sólo tenía 14 años.

A man who believed in “corrective rape” for lesbians has failed in an appeal against two life sentences.

Zabathini Jonas, from Petrusville in the Northern Cape, twice raped a 24-year-old woman, and told a magistrate in Philipstown that he “wanted to correct homosexual girls”.

After being convicted and jailed, the 30-year-old father of two appealed to the high court in Kimberley.

Judge Violet Phatshoane sent him packing last week, saying what he had done was “quite repulsive and unpardonable”.

She added: “The so-called ‘corrective rape’ is evil and cannot be countenanced. What [Jonas] did [to his victim] was to pulverise her sense of belonging and self-expression.”

Until quite recently, I was a courageous rebel. I wanted to go out into the streets, shout, protest, write letters, petitions, manifest, and give in. I had that energy, courage, strength. I was proud of it.
Today is simply bad.
I wake up in a country where every day someone compares me to a paedophile. I turn on the internet and see an ad for a newspaper supplement in the form of stickers with the words: “LGBT free zone”. A wave of fear floods me. Just anxiety, not anger, no anger. Only fear is left in me.

Spain: Judge remains barred over malicious prevarication against lesbian couple

The Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the Supreme Court has confirmed the decision taken at the time by the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) to deny the reinstatement to active duty in the judicial career of Fernando Ferrín Calamita, the judge of Murcia who was sentenced in 2009 to ten years of special disqualification for the “malicious” delay in the procedures for adopting a minor by the wife of the biological mother of the child.

The resolution, of which the magistrate José Manuel Sieira has been a speaker, recalls that the crime of prevarication is one of the most serious that a member of the judicial career can commit  in that it breaches (both) the essence of the Judiciary and the baseline behaviour expected of those who represent it.

Moreover, it distinguishes between the crime of malicious prevarication provided for in article 446 of the Criminal Code, for which Ferrín Calamita was convicted, and that of guilty prevarication of article 447. Thus, he emphasizes that, in this case, “we are facing a crime of greater gravity”, which does the damage to the public service is undoubtedly greater.

The events date back to 2006 when a lesbian couple began the adoption process with the aim of one being recognized as the adoptive mother of the girl that her romantic partner had conceived through artificial insemination.

La resolución, de la que ha sido ponente el magistrado José Manuel Sieira, recuerda que el delito de prevaricación es uno de los más graves que puede cometer un miembro de la carrera judicial en cuanto quiebra la esencia del Poder Judicial y la conducta mínimamente exigible a quien lo encarna.

Es más, distingue entre el delito de prevaricación dolosa previsto en al artículo 446 del Código Penal, por el que fue condenado precisamente Ferrín Calamita, y el de prevaricación culposa del artículo 447. Así, subraya que, en este caso, “estamos ante un delito de mayor gravedad”, lo que hace el perjuicio para el servicio público sea indudablemente mayor.

Los hechos se remontan al año 2006 cuando una pareja de lesbianas inició el proceso de adopción con el objetivo de que una de ellas fuera reconocida como la madre adoptiva de la niña que su pareja sentimental había concebido por inseminación artificial.(Original)

Die Straftat lautet Körperverletzung. Dass wir lesbisch sind, wird nirgends erwähnt, obwohl wir es gesagt haben, obwohl klar ist, dass wir die Eltern des Kindes sind. Trotzdem wird nicht aufgenommen, dass es eine homophobe Straftat war.

Dopo averle fissate per qualche minuto ha iniziato ad urlare insulti e maledizioni, arrivando, raccontano le ragazze ai carabinieri, anche a dare uno schiaffo ad una di loro. Ad intervenire in loro soccorso sono arrivate alcune persone presenti e l’aggressore si sarebbe rapidamente dileguato senza lasciare traccia.

Anche questo tentativo, nonostante il sostegno dell’amministratore e dei condomini, non è servito.
