During an eight-week spell working as a security guard at Co-op, Chloe Louise, who lives in west Hull, was forced to confront the gang.

The former partner of travel agent [Cassie Hayes] killed in a TUI shop has described the heart-wrenching moment she told their four-year-old daughter her mother had died. Cassie Hayes, 28, was killed on Saturday in Southport, Merseyside, at the branch of Tui where she was assistant manager.
Andrew Burke, 30, from St Helens, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today charged with her murder. A post-mortem examination showed Miss Hayes’ cause of death was shock and haemorrhaging as a result of the wound.

Lazia Nabbanja had claimed asylum in the UK on the grounds that she would face oppression in her home country, but her bid was rejected by the Home Office last year. Despite her providing evidence of her sexuality, Ms Nabbanja’s lawyers told The Independent that Home Office officials used alleged inconsistencies in the details of her relationships to suggest they did not believe she is gay. Photos and videos of her attending gay pride marches have been widely shared on social media and she has been featured in Ugandan newspapers, prompting fears she could be arrested or attacked as soon as she returns to her home country.

A school has been blasted by a former student after placing ‘censored’ stickers over her GCSE artwork which showed two women kissing. Megan Angus accused Laurence Jackson school in Guisborough, North Yorkshire, of being ‘homophobic’, but education chiefs defended their actions saying it was done because they were ‘mindful of the impact the sexually explicit drawing may have on younger students’. However, the school has apologised, admitting it may have been ‘overzealous’.

A British lesbian has been granted a dependent visa in Hong Kong in what is being seen as a landmark judgement in a city which does not recognise same-sex marriage.
Dependent visas, which allow the holder to live and work in Hong Kong, are normally only granted for husbands or wives of those who move to the city for employment.
The woman, who was named as QT in court filings, entered into a civil partnership in the UK in 2011.

A lesbian has demanded the Conservative candidate for Hove confirm whether she thinks homosexuality is a sin. It comes as Tory Kristy Adams failed for a third time to provide a clear statement on the subject.
Angela Paterson, a care worker from Hove, said that when she attended a church to which Mrs Adams has links, parishioners prayed to rid her of the “demonic stronghold” of her homosexual thoughts.
