Last Sunday, photographer Gabrielle Amato, in a group of five women, suffered physical and verbal aggression from three unknown men in an amusement park 80 km from São Paulo, the so-called Hopi Hari de Vinhedo.
As reported in the videos posted on social networks the women, three friends and a lesbian couple, were enjoying the day while waiting in line at one of the park’s attractions. They were approached by a trio of a father and son together with a friend who, chanting in favour of fascist President Jair Bolsonaro, declared a desire to expel them from the scene, eventually culminating in assaults on women, punching and kicking them.
On her social media networks, the photographer Gabrielle Amato denounced the incident and outlined the real reasons for the violence: the fact that they are lesbians. Gabrielle also commented that she was surprised by the incident because, according to her, such aggression was unusual until then, at least involving her person.
The emergence of these types of cases, such as Gabrielle’s, are increasingly common among women and people of colour, reflecting the advancement of the far right in Brazil. If, as the photographer says, such a situation is different from what happened in the past, we have a strong practical example of how fascists act when they feel comfortable acting in national politics.

No último domingo, a fotógrafa Gabrielle Amato, junto a um grupo que totalizava cinco mulheres, sofreu agressões físicas e verbais provindas de três homens desconhecidos em um parque de diversões há 80 km de São Paulo, o chamado Hopi Hari de Vinhedo.
As mulheres, como relatam nos vídeos lançados nas redes sociais, estavam aproveitando o dia entre três amigas e um casal lésbico, quando enquanto esperavam na fila de uma das atrações do parque, foram abordadas por um trio de pai e filho juntos a um amigo que, entoando dizeres a favor do presidente fascista, Jair Bolsonaro, declaravam o desejo de expulsa-las do local, culminando por fim em covardes agressões feitas pelo grupo contra as mulheres, onde por meio de socos e chutes, atingiram as visitantes.
A fotógrafa em seus redes sociais denunciou o fato e escancarou os reais motivos da agressão: o fato de serem lésbicas. Gabrielle comenta além disso a surpresa com a situação pois, de acordo com a mesma, agressões desse tipo eram incomuns até então, pelo menos envolvendo sua pessoa.
O aparecimento destes tipos de caso como de Gabrielle, cada vez mais frequentes entre mulheres e negros, é um reflexo do avanço da extrema-direita no Brasil. Se como diz a fotógrafa, tal situação se mostra diferente do que acontecia no passado, temos um forte exemplo prático de como passa a agir os fascistas quando sentem-se confortáveis de atuarem na política nacional.
