Chile: supermarket guard denounced for lesbophobia against lesbian couple

Chile

Using Instagram, Movilh Chile denounced an act of lesbophobia, which occurred in a Tottus supermarket, where a security guard approached a female couple and said “Why are you causing havoc? Women can not say they love each other.” The women rebuked the security guard who, according to the item posted on social networks, does not respond to them or give them any attention, until they reached out to other supermarket officials who recognized their complaints. For Vannia Díaz and Fernanda Pereire, this situation is a lesbophobic act. “My partner and I were not even holding hands, nor kissing, and even though it has happened, it can not continue happening, neither because we are women nor because we are lesbians,” Pereire said.
