A woman who says was raped on Cleethorpes beach has told a court that she is a lesbian who would never willingly have sex with a man.
The woman told the trial of the Indian restaurant owner accused of raping her: “I can’t stand a man touching me. I am not attracted to men.”
She said she had not called restaurant owner Mohammed Uddin down from the Promenade and initiated sex.
She also denied that she was disappointed with his poor sexual performance and that she had pestered him for sex, Grimsby Crown Court heard.
Uddin, 45, of Augusta Street, Grimsby, denies rape and an alternative charge of sexual assault on August 21.
The prosecution at Crown Court claims that the 36-year-old woman was drinking by herself on Cleethorpes beach after 11.45pm when Uddin asked her for sex.
She was a lesbian and would not have wanted sex with him because of that, claims the prosecution, but Uddin is said to have raped her.
